Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI) for Delaware

SPI is an index that compares precipitation over a selected duration to the historical probability of precipitation. In other words, SPI is an indicator of divergence from the normal conditions. Positive values are wetter than normal and negative values are dryer than normal. Use the tool below to observe the SPI for given durations, click on the map for more information and to access a timeseries of the data.
